Are GPS wigs the future?

by GPS4US 2013-12-02 15:26

Perhaps you should think twice before poking fun at  wigs or hair pieces.

In the not so distant future, they may be necessary to your life.

Technology giant Sony has recently acquired a patent for a wig that doubles as a wearable computing
device. That means your hair could soon store GPS, a camera and a remote control for all your other
electronic stuff.

Mashable.com reports that the “Smartwig” can be used to connect wirelessly to a second computing
device, and is controlled by the wearer’s head. Underneath the wig is the technology, which can
communicate to the wearer through head vibrations, Mashable said.

So maybe you’ve been eyeing up a smart watch this holiday season. Well, you should still get that
watch. But when it’s time for a new one in a few years, you may find yourself eyeing up GPS hairpieces
that, Sony claims, brings significantly increased comfort.
