GPS Can Cut Out Timesheets

by anton 2010-03-10 05:18

TomTom's operators have received an excellent assistance with time management and logging which is presented by two low-cost and practical devices.
Employees working away from the office will be tracked by Remote Link Working Time,
while the Remote Link Logbook monitors mileage accumulated on company vehicles, whether the journeys are work-related or personal.

"TomTom Link makes it easy for fleet managers to track and trace their company vehicles," explains Thomas Schmidt, managing director of TomTom Work.

"By adding these new devices, managers can gather valuable data about their employees' working hours and mileages – data they can use to boost productivity, increase efficiency and save money."

One of the benefits of Remote Link Working Time, is that it cuts out timesheets. Employees identify themselves by clicking a remote control, and employee ID information is sent straight to the office. The technology allows managers to see when employees started work, paused and stopped.

Meanwhile, efficiency gains of the Remote Link Logbook are seen on the road. By pressing a button at the start of a journey, drivers confirm whether the trip is business or personal. Individual and group mileage can be monitored by day, week, month or year, and all data can be integrated with payroll and billing.
