GPS trackers can help keep elderly safe

by GPS4US 2013-07-02 18:24
As our loved ones get older, their safety takes on more and more importance. They may get lost on road trips, or lose touch completely.

So it makes sense that a new blog post recommends using GPS systems to keep track of our parents and grandparents, especially when they’re driving.

The blog post cites two stories of elderly people going missing on road trips, including one that ended with a Pennsylvania couple tragically dying in their car on a frigid night after getting lost driving home.

Clearly, keeping our seniors safe is imperative. AARP lays out some GPS options for tracking the elderly, including portable devices, automotive devices and smartphones.

Of course, there are some other things to take into account, perhaps most importantly approaching the topic. The blog suggests bringing it up with love and respect instead of mistrust.
