Happy 25th birthday to GPS!

by GPS4US 2014-02-14 13:46

It’s appropriate, at least in our eyes, that the first GPS satellite was launched into space on Feb.
14, 1989. That Valentine’s Day began our path to the technology we love so much.

Of course, what’s not to love? Thanks to that launch, we always know where we’re going. Garmin, now in
its 20th year, brought us the nuvi for when we’re driving, and the

the GPSMAP 62s  or Montana  or Oregon for when we’re hiking. We know where our boat is where our boat is, and where

the fish are . And the technology has been integrated into our phones  and our pets  and everywhere else in life.

It may not have had the cultural impact of the television or internet, but over the last quarter
century, GPS has become an integral part of everyone’s lives in one way or another.

We love the fact that it paved the way for awesome products that enhance our lives. If you doubt that,
try using the new Approach S4  for your next round of golf. Then try to remember playing golf without it.

GPS has made life easier and more interesting. And to think, all of this information is coming to us
from space. That’s some real life science fiction right there.

So, thanks GPS! And happy birthday!
