When installing an aftermarket stereo in Ford Lincoln and Mercury vehicles this 12 Volt to 5 Volt Converter takes a normal 12 volt turn on from an aftermarket stereo and drops it down to 5 volts which the factory amplifier handles better for an easier and quieter start. A 3 wire hook up makes the converter simple to install.
