Features
T 5 and T 5 mini dog devices with collar are top-mounted, high-sensitivity GPS/GLONASS receivers that use LED beacon lights activated from Astro® 320 and Alpha® 100. The lights work in low-light conditions and at night, and are visible up to 100 yards away.
Rugged and water-resistant to 10 meters, these tracking-only dog devices are tough enough to run wherever your dog runs, up to 9 miles (for T 5) or up to 4 miles (for T 5 mini) away. T 5 ships with a 1-inch blue collar strap, and T 5 mini ships with a 3/4-inch blue collar strap. Replacement straps are available in multiple colors (sold separately).
Astro 320 and Alpha 100 must be updated with the latest software version to be used with T 5 or TT 15 collars.

The current edition collars with the larger sized tracking unit and wide band were too large to fit the neck of my 8kg terrier cross without causing rubbing abrasions. This older mini T5 has the same tracking and performance in the field but the tracking unit and the collar band width fit snug without causing chaffing. Be aware that the Garmin collars have proprietary chargers for each model (large vs small) and had to be purchased separately for this unit as it was listed as collar only.

The Garmin t5 mini is a bit pricey with duty and shipping. But the product itself is excellent. I was going to buy two more but the landed cost to Canada is just to expensive.

Excellent bit of kit, my wife took the collar in her vehicle to a location 8 km away, I lost her right in the valley but tracked her to the destination. Brilliant!

Powerful yet sufficiently small sized GPS transmitter. I regularly use it on German Hunting Terriers. For my bigger dogs (hounds) I use the T-5. Both transmitters are excellent!
