Cyclists can use Garmin Connect as gateway to third-party apps

by GPS4US 2014-08-11 10:25

Your Garmin cycling computer is now your outlet to the entire cycling world.

At least when it comes to third-part apps. If you own a Garmin cycling computer such as the Garmin
Edge, you can now seamlessly sync your data with an outside program like Strava, Edomondo or

MapMyFitness. All you need is your unit and a Garmin Connect account.

Say you want to link your Edge to your Strava account. You can now do so to view your cycling data on
Strava immediately after you’ve uploaded the content from your Edge to Garmin Connect.

Garmin says it’s working to pair more of its devices with third-party apps, which could be a
breakthrough in synchronicity.
