GPS gets kids to the school bus on time

by GPS4US 2014-02-11 10:30

Hey, maybe GPS can help your kids get to the bus on time.

If our days growing up are any indication, that might be a nice change of pace.

So the public school system in South Bend, Ind., recently debuted the MyStop program, which uses GPS to
help kids and parents know when the school bus is coming via app on their smartphone or computer.

Local television station WSBT had the details, interviewing 11-year old Max McCoy, who can now wait
inside until his mother knows – for certain – the bus is coming.

That helps during the harsh Midwestern winter.

“It’s been great because I can send them out about two minutes before the bus is headed into our
neighborhood, so they aren’t  standing out there in the cold or rain,” Max’s mom, Jo McCoy, told WSBT.

And, once they’re gone, Max’s mom can check the GPS again to ensure the bus made it to school.

Plus, it’s free and password protected.

If this was around when we were kids, we wouldn’t have spent so much time in detention.
