GPS market swinging upward, analysts say

by GPS4US 2014-08-01 10:47

The GPS market is booming, despite an array of challengers from all over the tech world.

That’s the determination of ABI Research, as it forecasts GPS tracking market will reach $3.5 billion
in revenue 2019.

Considering the influx of competition from smartphones and other new technologies, GPS companies like
Garmin have stepped up their game, introducing wearable fitness bracelets  and golf watches , and further

perfecting their products for hardcore hikers  and hunting dogs.

ABI predicts that between devices for health, tracking elderly people and children, pets and personal
assets, the GPS world is well on its way to a growth spurt.

GPS companies “are moving into areas such as mobile workforce management and lone worker applications,
while the connected home market will evolve to support personal protection across children, pets and
cars,” says ABI’s Patrick Connolly.
