Garmin announces new Dash Cam

by GPS4US 2014-01-10 10:47

Garmin’s creativity knows no bounds.

At least when it comes to interesting products for your car.

The GPS giant Monday announced its latest creation, the Garmin Dash Cam, a high-definition camera that
affixes to any car’s dashboard and continuously records wide-angle views of the road while you drive.
The announcement came at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

“Garmin Dash Cam is like a personal eyewitness that never misses an incident and provides proof of what
happens on the road,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide sales. “It is fully automated
and gives drivers peace of mind knowing any events that might occur will be captured. Features such as
an internal microphone and GPS add valuable context to the video files.”

The Dash Cam begins recording video in 1080p, 780p or WVGA  when you turn on your engine, and stops
when you turn the engine off. It has an integrated gravity sensor senses incidents such as hard braking
or a crash, and saves the pertinent footage.

It comes with a 4 GB micro SD card, but users can add a larger SD card with up to 32 GB of memory.
