Garmin introduces vivofit fitness band at CES

by GPS4US 2014-01-07 12:34

Garmin’s commitment to innovative fitness products continued Monday when the GPS giant introduced the
vivofit fitness band.

The vivofit is a fitness band that greets users with personalized daily goals and progressive tracks.
It also enhances workouts over time and monitors sleep patterns.

“Garmin has been providing fitness monitoring devices for over a decade, and with vívofit we say hello
to the fitness band that knows your potential,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of worldwide
sales. “Being able to monitor the quality of rest after retiring for the night, being challenged by
personalized daily goals and doing so without having to charge it every few days, makes vívofit a
fitness band that should be on everyone’s wrist.”

Garmin unveiled the vivofit at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Besides showing users
distance traveled and calories burned, it allows users to use Garmin Connect to keep track of their
fitness data. It also has an impressive battery life. It can stay on for more than a year. It is also
available with a heart rate monitor.

The vivofit is just the latest in a string of fitness products from Garmin. In the last half of 2013,
the company introduced the Edge Touring and Edge Touring Plus bicycle computers, along with the

Approach S4 golf watch, and the the Forerunner 220 and Forerunner 620 running watches.
