Gartner sees almost $149 Billion bright future for new wave of Cloud Computing

Innovation Cloud ComputingWhen we unlock our personal communicator, smartphone, GPS navigator or tap browser switch on netbook or laptop, use home or office desktop, we do not need to know where the "electrical power" of business services comes from, where is the of the system that delivers the banking services for us is physically located, what equipment is being used and how every component of hardware, communications and application software is configured. Same as with the electric power grid, where we enjoy the convenience of consumed electrical power without thinking or understanding the wires, generators, manpower involved and infrastructure of the electricity grid services providers. The image which the grid services may be associated with is some kind of all inclusive imaginary cloud, hence the term "Cloud Computing". 

What is inside the cloud is unknown. The evolution of enterprise application architecture (EAA) from the early monolithic mainframe core "onion" all-in-one centric architecture decades ago has been in constant transition phase since then. The EAA went through separation of layers and aggregation of tiers, the move from batch to real time processing, early remote procedure call RPC and remote function call RFC adoption and integration stages, the Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) and the Common Object Component (COM) middletier and database backend competition and later coexistence across Enterprise Resource Planning and Customer Relationship Management application market. Not to mention numerous turns around hardware platform, server and networking paradigms evolution by key computing platform leaders Cray, IBM, HP, Dell, Sun and others. The Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) built on top real time event-driven computing systems provided another layer to cloud computing architecture. The tectonic shift to cloud computing let any kind of data and service be exposed to mobile consumer in no time including hi resolution graphic, rich imaging, video, audio and the new Google maps 3D service rapidly delivering quality  topographic maps to mapping applications serving as high precision GPS navigators from the smartphone. 

Quite similar to the electrical power grid, the cloud computing is delivered as an utility, the difference is that instead of electrical power delivery to the air-conditioner or refrigerator over complex grid of wiring and electrical cables connecting cloud of electricity generating sources to the cloud of power grid users, the cloud computing utility feeds our tablets, phones, netbooks, GPS navigators, other rich GUI user devices with entertainment, knowledge base and business suite of real time services which users enjoy being quickly delivered from cloud computing services over the Internet.

Cloud computing has its networking infrastructure, the server platform, and the application "sub-clouds" composed of communication tiers as well as hardware and software  layers. The rapid transition in enterprise application utility-type service delivery architectures have lead to cloud computing suite of advanced business services ability to talk to each other using loose coupling mechanisms such as remote procedure calls, remote function calls, messaging queues or, where beneficial old fashioned batch processing exchange mechanisms. Maturing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications, strategy, solutions and systems provided by different vendors do not need, any more, be subject of complexities of hardware equipment integration, once they been taught the cloud computing universal communication language they turn from competing and into collaborating providing faster better quality suite of ERP services to the end user. The future of cloud computing as most agile complete solution for organizations experiencing  leads enterprise architects to explore the service-oriented diverse platform and application integration potential of cloud computing. 

In just three years of the introduction of Cloud Computing Services Model it has moved from Number Fourteen to Number One on the Gartner's list of CIO (Chief Information Officer) priorities. Gartner, Inc. (NYSE: IT) provides independent, objective research and analysis on information technology, computer platforms, software, communications, IT models and methodologies across high technology industries. Gartner is the respected Information Technology trends and market researcher organization. Gartner analysts projection of worldwide end-to-end Cloud Computing Services Model generated revenue will reach almost $149 Billion by 2015.
