Geocachers get caught in Michigan

by GPS4US 2013-08-05 16:12

If you’re in the heart of Michigan, you may want to go for the cheese.

In the Geocache of the Week feature, Geocaching.com profiles a cache in the Wolverine State that immediately catches your eye. That’s because it’s a human mouse trap.

The cache, which has been found more than 300 times, is a difficulty 1, terrain 2. But it looks like a 10 on the fun scale.

“Awhile back we saw a picture of a unique type of cache hide and it got us thinking about the age old question: How to build a better one,” creators FarmBoy&theTeacher say in the description. “Well, the ideas came and went and after much pondering we put together a plan. Then it was time to start building so we headed for the shop. Sawdust soon filled the air as the wood was cut. The steel was bent and twisted with the utmost precision. A shiny new coat of paint finished the project.”

The cache has been marked as a favorite 115 times, and figures to be popular for years to come.

How you find it, though, is up to you. But might we suggest using the Garmin Dakota 10 to guide your way?
