STV-Ural Moose Mobile - Maximum Range Directional Antenna
Contents of the package
antenna stem with cable and 6 antenna elements
Features
Never loose your dog again!
Moose Mobile is a leader in the compactness/range ratio. It was designed by hunters and radio professionals for an extra long-range signal reception from Garmin tracking collars - DC-30, DC-40, DC-50, T5, TT15. The average range increase is 400% compared to Garmin's Extended range antenna
Moose Mobile antenna can be carried in a backpack! They weigh is only 1/2 lb Disassembled dimensions: 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x 22 in. The antenna handle acts as a holder for the antenna elements and the cable.
ANTENNA USAGE:
Remove the rear plug and carefully remove the antenna elements from the inside of the stem.
Assemble the antenna using the color marking of the elements.
(Unmarked shortest elements are in the front, Medium elements marked black are in the middle and longest elements marked blue are in the back)
Connect the antenna to the navigator and point* in the direction where the dog is supposed to be
*The direction of max. reception for these antennas coincides with the longitudinal axis of the stem.
That is, the end of the stem with the non-removable plug should be directed towards the dog.
The antenna stem should always be parallel to the ground and the spokes (elements) can be at ANY angle to the ground. Start with spokes parallel to the ground and the stem pointing towards a dog. If the signal is not found immediately turn the stem slowly around its axis so the spokes start to lean until vertical. You can find an optimal angle for reception that way.
* The antenna HAS built-in protection against "static" and out-of-band noise, so its use with the navigator does NOT reduce the reliability of the system. However, it is NOT advisable to point the antenna at sources of powerful radio emissions, such as radio stations with a power higher than 5 W. When the antenna is operating on a mast (from 3 meters and higher), there are no restrictions on the proximity of operating stations.
** it is recommended to: assemble and disassemble the antenna a couple of times in a convenient place with good lighting! before using in a field
To fold the antenna, put the elements into the stem in the following order:
cable,
three elements - with the thread down and
the remaining elements - with the thread up.
* The antenna has built-in protection against static electricity discharges and out-of-band radio emissions, so its use with the navigator is absolutely safe. However, to protect the Garmin Astro/Alpha receiver from damage, it is not advisable to point the antenna at working radios. When the antenna is on a mast (3 meters and higher), there are no restrictions on the proximity of working stations to the side and behind.
